Liza is a lifelong sailor, both cruiser and racer, in the UK, Canada, the Caribbean and U.S. with a former career in educational psychology. She met her husband Andy, a former fighter pilot in the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy, in Antigua and they were married sailing aboard the classic yacht Ticonderoga. After running charter boats they moved to Vancouver BC to live and raced avidly but always hoped for a sailing sabbatical in the future. When their children were 2. 6. and 8 they bought a boat in France with the intention of cruising for two years, starting in the Mediterranean. The appealing lifestyle lured them further and six years later they completed a circumnavigation. Their Beneteau Bagheera has now taken them 124,000 n.miles to 114 countries.
Liza is the award-winning, best-selling author of four cruising books. Just and Still Cruising recount their world travels with Comfortable Cruising describing their voyage around North and Central America. Cruising for Cowards, co-authored with Andy, is their current technical and practical A-Z for cruisers, geared to both coastal cruising and voyaging offshore.
Liza also writes for many yachting magazines, gives seminars at major boat shows worldwide and frequent talks for a variety of clubs and organizations.
